| 24 satin squares |
While watching a few episodes of The Mandalorian, I cut 24 squares out of what was left of the white silky satin, for the underskirt's flounces. Now I only have scraps of the satin left, I hope the 24 are enough, probably not.
To make them, I marked the measurement of one of the sides, based on the pattern, plus more or less 1,5 centimeter, on the selvedge side, starting from the straight side, and marking until I didn't have enough length. Then I pulled a thread, horizontally, from each marking, and cut the fabric in 6 wide strips. To make the squares, first I cut part of the selvedge, so it won't show, after I hemmed them, folded one of the points at 45° and marked the width of the squares on each strip of fabric. I cut the widths using the same method, having 4 squares per strip.
+ Almost instinctively, I grabbed the fabric, flounce pattern and scissors, and started cutting.
- It's a bit of a boring task, and Im afraid there won't be enough flounces, so it better be enough.
I finally bought the IberAnime tickets, and I'll be taking Yuuko's sakura robe. I'm not looking forward to this.
THE CUNNING PLAN
Mark each flounce's cutouts, cut them and test with the underskirt.
