Tsukikage-sensei's belt
Something I should do more often is cosplay check, maintenance and mending. In my previous flat, I would mostly do it before wearing a costume, and sometimes do a bit of con crunch because of it. In this flat, where I have better storage space, the rules are different, and anything that needs mending goes to the mending bag, and isn't put in it's storage before it's mended. I have a smallish list, which will eventually be at my black board, when I put it up, but for now it's here:
- finish hemming Lum's yukata
- add straps to my obi-ita
- try to fix my geta, damaged during an event
- try to fix Yuuko's sunglasses, which are a bit bent
- mend the Mad Hatter bloomers' crotch
- fix the Mad Hatter's jacket skirt length and closures
fix Tsukikage-sensei's belt- iron the 6♤ apron with baking paper, to fix the wrinkly vinyl
- buy a ring etoui for Piggy's ring
- patch paint Andromeda's crown where the paint cracked/is white
I already fixed Tsukikage-sensei's belt, which had broken a while ago, and I also cleaned it with a wet wipe. Now it's stored with the other cosplay jewellery. The rest are still in the "to make" list, mostly the Mad Hatter and the Foxy Lady, my ongoing projects.

my Råskog cart, with ongoing projects
I also organised my IKEA Råskog cart. As I work both at my atelier and living room, being the living room mostly for hand work, like hemming, beading and embroidery, in front of the TV. I got the Råskog to keep the WIPs mobile, between the atelier and the living room, but, because I don't have all the furniture here yet, it ended up just being a small temporary storage. I changed that now, and it has, top to bottom:
- small cosplay jobs, like the Foxy Lady's embroidery, or the small bits to finish for the Mad Hatter.
- Blythe doll current projects, and other non-cosplay projects.
- Foxy Lady and Mad Hatter materials.
The idea is, every time I finish a project, I empty it from the Råskog and put the leftover materials in their proper storage places.
One of the reason's I finally did this was because my living room side table and coffee table were becoming very cluttered, and I'm starting a new, a bit volumous crafting project for the new flat, a latch hook shag rug, and need to make space for that. The rug won't be stored at the Råskog, it will have its own WIP box, that will live in the living room, by the sofa. It's nice to see a neat living room again.

my shag rug tools, the latch hook and the yarn cutter, and canvas
+ I'm a messy person, so everything needs to have its storage place to keep a fairly neat home, that's why I got a few new tools for that.- I'm really making an effort, but the other day I looked at my living room and my round side table was a pile of WIPs, my coffee table another pile of WIPs, under it a few more materials, at the ottoman, more mess, and by the sofa, a few tools, besides the painting box with the Foxy Lady's ears at a corner of the living room, waiting for dry weather and the glossy varnish to be applied. These old habits need to change.
THE CUNNING PLAN
Keep paying attention to the mess, and clean it up regularly, in the living room, and in the atelier (next).
