  • green velvet long gloves
  • fancy ring
  • skin coloured tights
  • black heels
Yeah, a new costume, but not to start right now.

For the longest time I've been toying with the idea of a Miss Piggy cosplay, but not anything specific, just one of her chic dresses with the satin gloves and pearl necklace. But then I saw that picture above, and I decided THAT will be my Miss Piggy costume, as it is so much fun! And not pink, gah! I hate pink! To be perfect, I would pair it with a guy in that Kermit does Miss Piggy costume! Maybe I can find someone...

I've always been a HUGE fan of The Muppets, ever since it played in Portuguese TV, around 76-77. I remember it for being the first time I wanted to be able to read the subtitles, and managing to to some extent, as most of the time they were too quick. My favourite character is, always was, and always will be Animal, but in general I love them all, as they're sooo good! Even though Miss Piggy isn't my favourite Muppet, she's awesome enough for me to consider her for a costume for my body type. That's how I came to consider her as a character, to pay tribute to one of my favourite shows, and now with a 2 in 1 costume!

yellow and green half pearls

A while ago, while shopping  for trinkets for another project, I bought the yellow and green crystals for the collar, more like iridescent half pearls, as I couldn't find any crystals in those colours and both the same size, and also looked for that green velvet. I couldn't find the velvet, which was expected, as light green isn't likely to be the most popular velvet colour, so I decided to look for it on AliExpress. Well, I found it, and at a very good price, but as I was ordering it, there was an issue with my PayPal, which took about one month to sort. So I just ordered it last week and, surprise!, it arrived today! 6, six days after ordering it! I hadn't even written this post yet, although I was planning to.

velvet being velvet, it doesn't photograph the same colour
depending on the light (sunlight | yellow artificial light)

So, here it is, one more comfortable, summery costume on its way to become reality. The plan is to make the ears and snout out of upholstery foam and felt, the frog eyes out of painted transparent xmas balls, wear my already bought but not styled Cyborg 003 wig, and generic black patent heels, with red Louboutain-like soles or any of my heeled sandals. I'll have to think about the ring, maybe I'll make a tiny crystal Kermit face? Provided I can find tiny light green crystals...
+ It's a quick and easy costume to make, I don't even need to draft the dress pattern, I can use the same as Non's, from Majokko Meg-chan. The most troublesome part will be the hood, snout and ears.
- I forgot, while ordering, that I'm dealing with velvet, I ordered plenty of fabric, I just hope I can cut it all in the same direction.
THE CUNNING PLAN
Watch Muppets Haunted Mansion. Take a sample of the velvet, and buy the satin to match. Buy the upholstery foam, the felt and the (eye) ball.
