Sooner or later, I usually make a costume breakdown sketch with notes, which works as my visual to-do list. I usually only make them in black & white, but lately I've been enjoying painting them.
+ It's a great guide for each costume I make, plus, If I don't have a complete view of the costume in the artwork, it's a good way to register how I'm solving the missing bits.
- my crimson red Copic marker ran out, and it wouldn't match the jacket's colour anyway. I painted it with my Caran D'Ache coloured pencils.
THE CUNNING PLAN
Make a doll sized mock-up of the jacket.
