| burgundy satiny fabric |
Found a great fabric for the lining of this costume, a burgundy silky satin, sadly in polyester, at the Feira dos Tecidos fabric store, in Rossio, bought 3 meters, mostly because I had the money to buy it. COST: €19,80.
+ It is a quite affordable, but high-end looking fabric. Its texture will contrast nicely with the two other planned fabrics: grosgrain and taffeta.
- It's polyester, I hate polyester. It numbs my scissor's blade, it's hot, and it's plastic. It's also very slippery, which makes it harder to work with.
THE CUNNING PLAN
To get cherry coloured grosgrain for the coat and hat's fabric, currently available at Feira dos Tecidos; to get white taffeta for the shirt, skirt and bloomers, and make a scalloped hem on the skirt and bloomers. Find adequate shaped shoes to line with the coat's fabric.
